Jeff Ellington

Jeff Ellington is Senior Vice President of Capterra Risk Solutions, LLC, responsible for the oversight of the captive formation process, including risk assessments, feasibility studies, organizational structure and design, and policy production.

He also coordinates captive renewals and claims handling and processing; he works closely with account managers on captive operational issues, including procedures, best practices, and quality review. In addition, Jeff manages the Business Development Team and is responsible for the generation of new captive business.

As a successful insurance professional with over 30 years of overall experience including over 10 in captive insurance, Jeff has worked in multiple facets of the commercial insurance industry, including sales, marketing, underwriting and management.  Most recently, Jeff was Vice President of an international captive insurance management and consulting firm, where he developed and oversaw the Underwriting Department and worked with brokers and other referral sources to develop strategic partnerships to generate new captive opportunities. Jeff began his insurance career in sales of commercial insurance with Liberty Mutual insurance company and became a National Top Producer. He then became a successful agent with a regional retail insurance agency and was later made Partner and Vice President. While there, he was chosen by the management of Crum & Forster insurance company to serve on its national council of agents.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, and he achieved and maintains the Certified Insurance Counselor designation. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, working out, reading, and he is an avid fan of college and pro football and basketball.
